Seaford Farmers Market
Last updated July 2018
In the last few months we have experienced extreme weather conditions on a number of occasions resulting in the early termination or complete cancellation of the Market. This policy outlines the conditions under which the market may be cancelled and how the cancellation process is managed.
Reasons for Cancellation
The only reason the market is cancelled is as a result of extreme weather.
Extreme weather conditions can be considered as any of the following:
Severe Thunderstorms (Hail, Lightening, wind over 90km/h, flash floods)
Strong winds/Gales ( Winds over 50km/hr)
Heavy Rain (Extensive areas of continuous heavy rain (red and yellow on Radar) showing and predicted for the duration of the Market)
Extreme Heat ( When temperatures are predicted to exceed 40 degrees Celsius.
When extreme weather is forecast for the morning of the Market the Director will review the forecast as advertised on BOM and in light of the above criteria and the available information reach a decision as to whether the market will be cancelled.
In the event that the decision is to cancel the Market that decision must be made no later than 5pm on the Saturday prior to the Market.
The decision, along with an explanation as to the reason for the cancellation will be communicated to all stallholders via the Stallholder Coordinator, as well as being posted on the Market Facebook Page.
